Strattera, used to treat ADHD, now has a bold black type label that warns of severe liver injury. The warning is based on 2 studies that show patients who are jaundiced or who show laboratory evidence of liver injury should stop using the drug. Patients are urged to consult with their physicians before stopping medication.
Strattera, manufactured by Eli Lilly, was approved in 2002 for the treatment of ADHD and has been prescribed to over 2 million patients.
